When not to get a massage?

August 6, 2009 · 1 Comment

There are times when a body should not get a massage.

However, reschedule that appointment for a better time…

Here is my top five or (at least) at the top of my head.

1) When you have a cold, really, you don’t want to share.

2) Flu symptoms…fever, chills, nausea, ect.

3) ANY skin infection or unidentified skin rash

4) Inflamed Sunburn

5) While your body is in immediate shock; for example, you got in a automobile accident.

Yes, some are obvious yet, nonetheless, noteworthy.

Masseuse or Masseur ?

Masseuse or masseur: which is it? Well, if you are going for political correctness “massage therapist” is the way to go. If you are enjoying an excellent massage from a male practitioner of massage, then masseur is your word.  Masseuse, the feminine, is the title to use when referring to women practitioners. Waitress/waiter, steward/stewardess could easily be misused and potentially offensive. So, then we have the collective “don’t stick your foot in your mouth” names like server, flight attendant, massage therapist….

No worries.
Hope your next massage is the best yet.
